What a queerness day, it was!

I went to Long beach for a short trip. We walked around and saw a festival is going on. My friends goes” momo looks fun, lets get in the line” so we did. Once we through the gate…Voila! It was a gay festival. I was amazed how their community are organized. They have got gay estate, gay motorcycle store, and gay police!!! There were cool people but obviously we did see things that we didn’t wanna see.

Horticultural therapy

週に一度は園芸療法の日です。

Descanso Gardenには野菜畑のような園芸療法のプロットが設けられていて、

園芸療法士一人と１５人のボランティアでやっています。

近郊から毎週スペシャルエイドのクラスの子達がやってきて野菜のお世話をします。

土を触ったり、野菜を見たりして楽しみます。

ナス、トマト、ピーマンなどなど、品種も色々、

私のFavoはトマトの原種に近いheirloomです。

あとはミニトマトでキューピッド。

障害者と言ってもガーデニングにはあなり関係ないようで（植えたりする作業に時間は掛かるけど）、

植物はすくすくと育って、収穫、今度はクッキング教室になります。

前回はイタリア人のおっさんのペストでした。

バジルとオリーブオイル。ボーノ！！

彼曰く、オリーブオイルは上質のものに限るです。

Spontaneously

Things I realized today.
I’ve been taking ballet since I was a kid. My mother forced me to go ballet school I was taking the class at least three time a week that time. When I went to the state, I wanted to take the ballet class because I don’t need to speak good English there and make some friends. The truth to be said. Yes dancing is universal, the feeling and passion for the ballet is the same. Above all, I had motivation to study ballet.

Today I just got it how the plie works….it took me over 10 years to realize how the muscle works. Grand plie, executed inner thighs. Engaging inner thigh muscles as you close battement tendus and battement jetes into fifth will make your inner thighs work. Your quads take over when you forget about maintaining turnout, especially when your working leg is in the air, for example if, when you developpe devant, you let your working hip go up and out for the sake of height rather than maintaining turnout which must be maintained with the inner thigh muscle (sartorius especially) and the lower hip/rear upper leg muscles (primarily piriformis, gemellus, obdurators, gluteus minimus, adductors).

Plie was not just a plie. My mother tells me lots of things but this is something she could not tell me. I am gonna sleep on it.

Michigan State University I

The school I attended. Too many memories and I am rambling reminiscences all the time. Even I graduated, Even I relocated to L.A. and I am sure I will be doing that forever. I still think of it as my home sweet home.

So, Michigan. Michigan is a state known for the coldness. It is ridiculously cold and it last the half of the year. Means that we appreciate the spring to come, and all kinds of plants initiate blooming all at once. It’s that crazy. Michigan is devided into to part, UP and lower peninsula. The lower peninsula where I lived is flat solid landm there is no fun driving the high way. But Now I think of it, it is good, because you can see the sky when you are outside, and that seems like it goes all the way back to the other side of the planet.

ボールに

「小麦粉大さじスプーン5」

「卵1」

「本だし少々」
の割合で入れて、

生地がサラサラ（小麦粉が完全に溶けるくらい）
になるくらい水を入れながら混ぜるらしい。。。（入れすぎない様に少しずつね）

古い街の佇まいのパサデナは、
世界的なデザイナーの巣立ったArt Center College of Design、
ノーベル賞受賞者を数多く輩出するカリフォルニア工科大学、
ＮＡＳＡの探査機研究所などがあり、

素晴らしい印象派コレクションのノートンサイモン美術館も大好きです。

それと、新年のローズパレードもおなじみです。

たぶん、犬を選ぶとき、すべての人が聞かなくてはならないフレーズだと思います。

犬を買う時、可愛らしい子犬を目の前に、将来のことを考えるのは無理に近いです。

でも犬は２０年生きます。

そしてピレネー犬などの大型犬の飼育には、

思った以上にお金も労力もそして知識も必要です。

お金ってごはんとか？

それだけじゃないです。

ケージだって小屋だって、お薬だって小型権の何倍もします。

アメリカから来たポーラの航空券のお金は、世界一周できると思うほど。

自分と同じくらいの体重の犬が老いたら、どうやって介護するか・・・想像もつきません。

お金も知識も必要です。

でも、大型犬は飼う価値があります。

だから、チャレンジングだけど、この種類を飼うか、よく考えないとね。

Robinson House

パサデナに引っ越してきて、私が居候させてもらっているお家には名前があります。ロビンソン邸。グリーン兄弟がデザインした古い建築物で、パサデナの有名なお屋敷、ギャンブル邸と共にこの町の保存建築にも指定されています。多分、そこらへんをドライブしているとわかるけど、Grand Aveには数件グリーンの設計した豪邸があります。といっても、ロビンソンハウスのように、ゲートがあって中が見えないのも多きけど。ハリウッドやビバリーの様なゴージャス感よりかは趣の感じられるお家です。

二人は別件のゲストハウスに６年間泊り込んで、この古いお屋敷を改築しました。ティファニーのステンドグラスのドアをあければ、オレゴンのマホガニーとヒノキのいい香りがWelcomeします。Phaedraはフランスでインテリアデザイナーの学校にいっていて、クラシックなデザインがとても上手く調和されています。ででも、さすが彼女。ベースメントは大人の部屋。ポーカー、ビリヤード、ワインクーラー、そしてミービーシアター。サウナもありやす。

お外はお外でそれ又色々と小細工が。一歩歩けば何かＦＵＮが待っていて、チョー楽しいです。インディアンのテント、ティピとか、藤のアーケード、ブランコ、ＢＢＱ（２つもある・・・）、などなど。因みに崖にできているプールは今年のカリフォルニアのプール賞をもらったそうで。フェドラのデザインです。ほんと、子供欲しかったんだろうなあ。しかも、園芸家の二人なので、ここにある殆どの植物は果樹、樹木、野菜等、何かに使えるものです（食べるだけジャンよ）。ブラディーオレンジ、マーベル、カフィアライム（タイの！！）、ごぼうまで！ほんと、うれしい限りです。

Descansoで園芸療法士として何年か働いていたフェドラ。だから、ランドスケープをデザインするときも、勿論、ここをお手本にしたらしく、ＤＥＳＣＡＮＳＯで働いている友達を連れて着たら皆、ここはSMALL DESCANSOじゃない。っていってました。

さて、日本庭園のデザインをこれから一緒にしましょうよって言われたんですが・・・・。作庭記読まなければ・・・。
